Dirty Laundry

The Dirty Laundry Project is an annual event run in collaboration with the Family Referral Service, Lismore Domestic Violence Committee and other agencies.

Community members are invited to write messages against family violence on tee-shirts which are then displayed in Lismore shops during the 16 Days of Action Against Violence Against Women.

If you or your friends are keen to help with this program ring Jillian on 02 6621 7730. Women Up North holds t-shirt printing workshops at its premises and helps the Dirty Laundry team hold workshops around Lismore. WUN also approaches businesses asking them to hang the t-shirts. Dirty Laundry links in with White Ribbon day, a male-driven campaign to end men’s violence against women.

The project raises awareness of the problem of domestic violence and reinforces the message that violence against women and children can never be excused.
